How do you use my data?

Where you are a new customer and have opted in via our website to receive updates on our products and services including offers, promotions and new options, we will process your personal data to provide you these updates in line with the preferences you have provided and will only use your personal data in this way with your consent.

You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or, where relevant, by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing communication you receive from us.

We will use your personal data to assess your suitability for our available roles. We do this to perform our contract obligations or to take steps at your request, before entering into a contract. Where we process your right to work documentation, we will do so to comply with our legal obligations.

We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If you wish to receive an explanation as to how the processing for the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose, please contact us using the details provided at the beginning of this Privacy Notice.

If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so (unless we are not able to do so under applicable laws).

When you use our Facebook Page or contact us through Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Instagram

When you use our Facebook page (our “Facebook Page“), use Facebook messenger, or interact on our WhatsApp Channels or Instagram (together, our “Meta Apps“) we and Meta Platforms, Inc of 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, US (“Meta“) collect information about you. This includes:

Meta is a ‘joint controller’ with us in law for processing this particular information about you. We have access to this information to use for reporting, insights, and marketing purposes and so does Meta. We may also see this information if you have communicated with us on our Meta Apps, so that we know who we’re speaking with.

We and Meta have agreed by way of its UK Controller Addendum to share certain responsibilities to protect this information by making sure we each have a legal basis for joint processing, by honouring your legal rights in respect of your personal data, and for ensuring security of joint processing. Further details about how we do this are available on request. Please note that Meta will be responsible in respect of your Data Subject Rights (as defined below) with regard to your personal data that it stores after the joint processing. Keeping your personal information up to date

If any of your personal data (such as your contact details) changes, please ensure that you let us know so that the information we have about you is kept up to date.

Do we process children’s data?

No, we do not. This website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children. If you are aware that any information of anyone under the legal age of majority has been shared with us or using this website, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so that we can delete that data.

Who do you share my data with?

Where do you store my data?

We store your data on third party servers which are based both in the UK and outside of the UK. When working with third parties we may need to transfer your personal data outside of the UK.

Whenever we transfer your personal data outside of the UK, we ensure it receives additional protection as required by law. To keep this Privacy Notice as short and easy to understand as possible, we haven’t set out the specific circumstances when each of these protection measures are used. You can contact us at [email protected] for more information about this.

We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

If you would like detailed information from Get Safe Online on how to protect your personal data and other information and your computers and devices against fraud, identity theft, viruses, and many other online problems, please visit www.getsafeonline.org.

How long do you keep my data for?

We will retain your information for as long as you have an account registered with us.

If you delete your account or request us to do so, we will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements. In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we will be able to use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

What are my rights under data protection law?

You have various other rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:

together your “Data Subject Rights”

If you would like to exercise any of those rights, please contact us using the details provided above, letting us know the information to which your request relates.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month.

Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests (in which case we will notify you and keep you updated).

There are some exceptions to the rights listed above and, although we will always try to respond to any instructions you may give us about our handling of your personal information, there may be situations where we are unable to meet your requirements in full (for example, if we have a legitimate reason for not doing so or the right you wish to exercise does not apply to the particular information we hold about you).

We hope that we can resolve any query or concern you raise about our use of your information. You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the supervisory authority in the United Kingdom for data protection issues, the ICO, whose website is here

We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to deal directly with your concerns before you approach the ICO or any other supervisory authority, and would be pleased to respond to any such complaints as your first-priority contact.
